 Monday 20th December Lord Provost's Christmas Lunch

 
 Some 20 members enjoyed a a lovely lunch with entertainment to follow

 

 Thursday 25th November - Christmas Shopping trip to Stirling

       
 We were booked in for 12 noon, with a meal    The pool which surrounds the River House
 of a starter and a main course and it was          Restaurant in Stirling, with its icy look
 well presented and we had no complaints
 about the quality

 Thursday 11th November

       
 To mark Armisitce Day the members held an afternoon of singing songs from the wars under
 the theme of "we shall Remember. The treasurer had brought the family memorabilia
 including photographs; ration books; Gunnery History sheets; Torpedo History sheets;
 ARP booklets and leaflets and many other items of interest on the 1939/45 conflict.

Thursday 4th November

 Presentation of the cheque to the Treasurer Margaret Yule from Chrisitne Blyth and
 Maureen Crighton who attended the presentation earlier that morning. The cheque tor
 £1,000 was presented to the club by Chief Constable Justine Curran, on behalf of the
 Tayisde Police Benevolent Fund.

 Thursday 14th October

  A demonstration of  Glasscraft by Mrs Gail Mills ably assisted by Margaret and Moreen

Tuesday 5th October

 Stroke Awareness week and the club had a stan in the Wellgate Centre, with a good degree of
 interest being shown by the shoppers

 Thursday 30th September the Club's 13th Birthday Party attended by some 42 members a friends

 Alice and Isobal arrive with the sausage rolls, and they disappear to eat them stage left

      
  The prizes up for grabs and with good ticket sales thanks to Christine £139 was realised

 The food which was supplied by Arch Catering was a great success and John one of
 the Couier photographers attended to take a pictue of the committee along with Carol
 Anderson CHSS and Ken Stewart who supplied the music to his very high standards


Thursday 16th September - Ethel's 80th Birthday plus Who wants to be a Millionaire

                 celebration with Maureen, Christine and Bill all going off on holidays

Tuesday 8th June - Special Presentation at Ancrum Primary School

The Treasurer Margaret Yule; Secretary Christine Blyth and Vice Chairman Bill Blyth attended a special
 presentation to the Dundee Stroke Recovery Club at Ancrum Primary School. A cheque for
£56 was
 presented to Margaret Yule by Lois Mills of Primary 5 whose teacher is Mrs Magson. Both Lois's mother
 Shona Mills and grandmother June McNeil who is also a member of the club attended
 
the presentation

            

Thursday 3rd June -  Summer Outing to the Falkirk Wheel with High Tea in Callander at Dalgair House Hotel

Members and friends of the club set off on their summer outing to the Falkirk Wheel followed by high tea at the
Dalgair Hosue Hotel,
in Callander. The members were on the boat called Archimedes, this boat was the first of
the new type suitable for the disabled and was named at a ceremony in the Summer of 2004. The Falkirk Wheel
was first opened to the public following the official naming ceremony by the Queen on 24th May, 2002

Thursday 20th May - The Chocolate man

 
 
Derek accompanied by his wife Gloria gave an excellent demonstartion on the mixing of the different types
 of  chocolate. Derek also 
gave the members an in sight of what new items of chocolate would be availabe to
 buy for the is coming Christmas
 

Thursday 22nd April - Lunch at the Dundee College, Kingsway Campus
 Once again a a lovely lunch cooked and served by the students, unfortunately both Christine & Bill missed
 this one stuck in the USA with volcanic ash problem

Thursday 1st April - Tea & Chat
 Margaret distributed easter eggs to the members and I tried a video clip to see if this could work

Thursday 25th March - Annual General Meeting
The Officers & Committee for 2010/2011 are Chairwoman Maureen Crighton; Secretary Christine Blyth;
Treasurer Margaret Yule and Vice Chairman Bill Blyth with committee members Mabel Elder; Peter and Wilma
 Whyte; Alice Smyth and  Cathie Quinn. The CHSS Community Support Worker Carol Anderson also atttended.

Thursday 18th March
The members of the Dundee Stroke Recovery Club were given a very enlightening talk by Mike Jeffries entitled
'Act IV the story so far...'      He explained the background on the work that was involved in organising the
productions they had arranged over the years looking at it from the perspective of several of those who played
in major part of the team.  The degree of their success was reflected with over 60 plus local charities having sharedin over £340,000 of the funds raised by their various productions. Act IV normal stage their productions
in the Dundee College Theatre in Gardyne Road, but due to refurbishment they are using the theatre in the Kingways Campus, but hope to return to the Garyne Road location in 2011. Currently another production
due to be held in September.

Thursday 4th March
                                                                                                                                                                          

Christine with 'What is it' some 12 images of household items photographed very close-up. The winners
with 20 out of 24 points were May Caswell and George Tadden.

                       A very entertaining and inttersting talk by Hamish Howe entitled "A Tour of Glamis Castle

At its first meeting of 2010 Christine Blyth [Secretary] presents Margaret Yule [Treasurer] with the cheque for
£126 from

Hillcrest Bowling Club and Maureen annouced a further donation of £200 from Jim and Wilma Kerr
